Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., located in Rochester, NY, offers comprehensive employment programs to help veterans prepare for, find, and maintain successful careers. From job search assistance and life skills training to connections with local employers across Monroe County, WNY, and the Finger Lakes Region, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Job Search Assistance

Our job search assistance services are designed to help veterans build skills, make connections, and secure lasting employment opportunities.

  • Personalized vocational assessments, career counseling, and resume preparation
  • Job readiness training focused on life skills and professional development
  • Job development support and continued post-placement services to ensure success
  • Direct access to RochesterWorks! and the New York State Department of Labor (Link to On-Site Partners) veteran representatives
  • VETNET: Weekly veteran-exclusive networking group sessions to build professional connections

Life Skills and Vocational Training

The Colonel Robert N. Abbott Veterans Community Technology Center (VCTC) provides veterans with free access to state-of-the-art computers for job searches, applications, resume writing, and email. The VCTC offers professional instruction in essential job skills, including First Aid, CPR, security guard training, OSHA safety courses, Microsoft Office, basic computer skills, and occupational skills training.

All classes are taught by friendly, knowledgeable instructors who are committed to helping veterans succeed. As with all services at Veterans Outreach Center, there is no cost to use the VCTC or participate in any of its training programs.
