Row for Hope Raises $6,000 for Veterans Outreach Center
Veterans Outreach Center is grateful for the partnership with McQuaid Jesuit High School and their Row For Hope crew team. After months of planning their annual special event, rowing down the Erie Canal to raise much-needed funding for our services, everything came to a halt as COVID-19 reared its ugly head. But, the McQuaid students were dedicated and motivated to move forward to find ways to support our local heroes. The team began selling t-shirts and wristbands in their bookstore and set up a GoFundMe page.
While their Row for Hope event was postponed twice and finally cancelled, the 11 boys were able to donate more than $6,000 to support the programs and services we offer veterans and their families at no cost. These services include food and shelter at our Quartermaster, mental health and addiction support, suicide prevention/awareness support, and job training and career placement services. A special thank you goes out to all those who donated and supported the Row For Hope 2020 team. For more information about Row for Hope, please visit rowforhope.net.
