Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) is hosting its annual Flag Day Campaign, presented by T-Mobile, June 11 – 14 at retail locations across the Greater Rochester Region. Volunteers will be distributing hand-held American flags and collecting donations to support critically needed services for local veterans. COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed. VOC will also be hosting a one-day online giving campaign June 14.

“Our Flag Day Campaign is a critical aspect of being able to continue providing services for veterans,” Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director and U.S. Army Veteran Laura Stradley said. “Not only do we count on mission-driven volunteers for their enthusiastic help, but the support of the community ensures that the brave men and women who served our country have the support they need to reacclimatize to civilian life.

“The COVID-19 pandemic created even more challenges for some veterans, so we are asking our community to pledge their allegiance to veterans and help serve those who served U.S.”

More information, including a list of participating locations, can be found on our website.

Volunteers still needed: In order to ensure Flag Day is a success, VOC needs additional volunteers to distribute flags and collect donations. Those interested in volunteering can complete the volunteer interest form on the Flag Day webpage or by contacting Kim Osur, Special Events Coordinator, at 585.295.7824.

For those looking to replace their American Flags or acquire a new one, larger flags can be purchased at the Stars & Stripes Flag Store at 455 South Ave., Rochester, or via their website.
