Legal Resources and Support for Veterans

Legal Resources and
Support for Veterans

Whether facing court involvement or seeking legal advice, we ensure veterans have the guidance and support they need. Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., located in Rochester, NY, provides veterans with access to legal resources that address a variety of challenges. Through trusted partnerships  with local legal organizations, we help veterans navigate civil legal issues and connect them with services designed to support their rights and well-being.

Veterans Treatment Court

The Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) is a specialized program that offers eligible veterans an alternative path when facing non-violent criminal charges related to substance abuse or mental health challenges. Rather than focusing on punishment, VTC is designed to address the root causes of the behavior through treatment and intensive case management. Veterans receive structured support and are connected to the resources they need to regain stability and become productive members of the community.

In addition to individualized treatment plans, veterans in the program are invited to participate in peer support groups, both during treatment and after completing the program. These groups foster a sense of community, accountability, and shared experience, helping veterans maintain long-term success.

Lawyer for a Day/Legal Counseling

Through a partnership with JustCause and the Veterans Committee of the Monroe County Bar Association, we offer free legal consultations for veterans seeking advice on civil legal matters. The Lawyer for a Day program provides veterans with access to professional legal guidance, helping them navigate issues such as housing, benefits, family law, and more.
