A Message From Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director - Thank You For Your Support!
Hello friends,
Let me start by saying how proud I am to be a part of Veterans Outreach Center and this community. When we initially shared news of the New York State funding cut and called on you, the community, you responded in full force. You shared our story; you made a financial contribution; and overall you showed us just how much you care about veterans, their families, and the services Veterans Outreach Center provides.
We are one week into our campaign and are still a long way from reaching our goal of $250,000, but every dollar donated helps to offset this funding cut so we can continue to provide life-changing services for the brave men and women who sacrificed for our country and our freedoms. Each dollar goes toward helping veterans learn new skills and find career opportunities, making sure homeless veterans have a bed to sleep in and a bright future, combating isolation—which has been proven to contribute to depression and suicide—at our Morale Center, and so much more.
VOC is extremely pleased to have received HVRP funding to support our employment programs. These funds do not offset or make up for the $250,000 lost in NY State funds, which helped to cover our operating costs. They are two completely different funding streams, and by law, they must be used to cover different portions of our operations. VOC is grateful for your participation in our Resource Recovery Campaign.
From myself and everyone at Veterans Outreach Center, thank you for your support and for showing that you stand beside us and our nation’s heroes.
If you haven’t yet, please consider visiting our Crowdrise page and making a donation. When you support VOC, you help us to serve those who serve U.S.
Sincerely,
Laura Stradley
