“I believe diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are extremely important aspects of good organizational culture, and more importantly, of humanity.  Every person is unique in their own way and they bring value to those around them. I strive to create an environment in which every person has the opportunity to flourish; this has been my commitment since day one as the Executive Director at Veterans Outreach Center.  To that end, I created the DEI committee and added a line item to the VOC annual budget for DEI initiatives.  A budget is a statement of priorities, after all.  And at VOC, we prioritize veterans of EVERY demographic, as well as our staff, donors, community partners and volunteers.  Thank you for joining us in this journey.”

Our Strategic Plan

This strategy is a one-year plan to help us work towards our diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. It provides a shared direction and commitment for both the DEI committee and the agency. This will help us work together to respect our diverse staff and clients to build a more inclusive workplace. It comprises of four key goals and identifies the priorities and actions we will take in 2024. It outlines the key responsibilities and how we will both track progress and measure success.
