Veterans Outreach Center
(ROCHESTER, NY) – Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) is hosting its 33rd annual Flag Day campaign from June 12th to June 14th. The event raises crucial funds to support the comprehensive suite of services VOC offers to veterans in Rochester and the surrounding counties.
During the three-day event, volunteers will be stationed at various retail locations across Monroe County, handing out free handheld American flags. Community members will have the opportunity to make optional donations, with all proceeds benefiting VOC’s programs and services.
Companies can also sign up as corporate partners to distribute flags at their location(s), and VOC will provide a donation box.
“Our Flag Day fundraiser is an opportunity for our community to come together and show their support for the brave people who served our country,” Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director & U.S. Army veteran Laura Heltz said. “The funds raised enable us to provide comprehensive and holistic services, from housing and mental health services to our Workforce Development and Vets With Pets programs and more, so we can meet veterans where they are. It’s an investment in their well-being, stability, and future success right here in Rochester.”
VOC is also seeking volunteers to help make the Flag Day fundraiser a success. Those interested in volunteering can find more information and sign up by visiting the VOC website at www.vocroc.org or by contacting Jarie Doberstein, Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator, at 585.295.7810 or Jarie.Doberstein@vocroc.org.
Flag Day donations can also be made online at www.veteransoutreachcenter.org/flag-day.
