At Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., based in Rochester, NY, we believe everyone has a role to play in supporting those who served. Through volunteer and fundraising opportunities, you can help us provide no-cost programs and services to veterans and their families across Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Livingston, Wayne, and Genesee Counties. Whether you give your time, organize a fundraiser, make a donation, or spread the word, your involvement strengthens our mission  and makes a real difference in the lives of local veterans.

Volunteer at Veterans Outreach Center

We rely on the compassion and generosity of volunteers to help us serve veterans and their families in meaningful ways. Volunteers are essential members of our team, supporting programs and events that directly impact the lives of those who served. From assisting with special events and community outreach to providing administrative support or helping maintain our facilities, there’s a role for everyone who wants to give back. Whether you can offer a few hours or a regular commitment, we welcome your time and talents.

Become a Monthly Donor by Joining VOC's Support Force

Amplify your impact through your employer’s matching gift program. Many companies match employee donations, effectively doubling or even tripling your contribution to VOC. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company participates. Some of the companies known to offer matching gifts include:

Direct your United Way contributions to benefit the Veterans Outreach Center. It’s simple:

  • In Rochester, designate Agency #1119 on your United Way donor form.
  • In other areas, write in “Veterans Outreach Center” as your chosen organization.

Honor a veteran’s service with a personalized plaque on our Wall of Honor. For a $250 donation, an engraved brass plate will be displayed in our administrative offices, serving as a lasting tribute.

Dedicate a Plate

Celebrate the life of a loved one by requesting donations to Veterans Outreach Center in place of flowers. This thoughtful gesture extends their legacy by supporting services for veterans and their families.

Consider leaving a lasting legacy by including Veterans Outreach Center in your estate planning. Our Legacy Brigade honors individuals who make planned gifts, which can be arranged through various methods:

  • Designating VOC as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy
  • Allocating a portion of your estate via a will, retirement plan, or trust
  • Establishing a Gift Annuity or Charitable Trust that provides income to you and your beneficiaries
  • Donating real estate
  • Contributing stock or appreciated securities
  • Making a tax distribution from your IRA

Support our veterans by donating goods and services that meet their immediate needs. We accept a variety of items, including:

  • Food
  • Clothing (Men’s and Women’s, brand new & excellent condition preferred)
  • Hygiene Products (Full size preferred)
  • Household items
  • Pet care items
  • Gift cards
  • Etc.

Transform your old vehicle into valuable support for veterans. We accept cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and snowmobiles. Donating is easy and may qualify you for a tax deduction.

Connecting with veterans where they live, work, and gather is an important part of how we deliver support. That’s why a member of the Veterans Outreach Center team is available to attend your event, share information about our services, and engage with veterans in your organization or community. By partnering with you, we can work together to make sure every veteran has access to the help they deserve.
